Depending on the specific safety requirements when point sensors are required, Ino-Tek may recommend either catalytic or infrared technology. Additionally, Ino-Tek recommends the newest open path Laser Technology when space and distance make point sensors impractical.

Depending on the specific application, sensors may have a life span as short as 18 months while other sensors, especially sensors used for detecting refrigerant leaks are still going strong after 5 years.
