Hospital Chiller Room Gas Detection and Ventilation Control System

Background

A large hospital complex had a large chiller building with many chillers and boilers providing utility services to the complex. The building room had a failed gas detection and emergency alarm system. The hospital needed the building to be protected by a new system that could meet all of the appropriate building code requirements.

Project Results

Ino-Tek reviewed the area and the applicable building codes. A gas detection and emergency alarm system for the chillers was proposed with over 30 sensors. The sensors were tied into a single controller that interlocked the emergency alarm system with the ventilation and shut down circuits. The system has operated for 8 years with no failures and few false alarms.
